“VoiceThread offers a natural online interaction that lends itself to student presenting & defending their work before experts and peers”
All great speakers were bad speakers at first
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
Ed.VoiceThread is a platform where students develop critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity skills.

Each VoiceThread is a persistent virtual room that enables rich multimodal comments in a low stress format. Presentations and learning content move from clickety-click and text chat interactions, to authentic conversations, simply.
No AI detection work needed.
How VoiceThread fits into the curricular toolscape
Humanizing
Social media inspired learning tools rely too heavily on clickety-click interactions and not enough on the authentic and complex nuance of the voices and faces found in VoiceThread rooms. Real learning communities, are built on real human interactions.
AI Aware
Students develop the higher order critical thinking skills required to process and transform the learning materials created by peers and faculty. Cognitive skills cannot be easily offboarded to gen AI "assistants." No AI detectors or detection workflows required.
Research
VoiceThread is one of the most heavily researched tools created in the last 20 years. Over 3,337 research articles cite VoiceThread and the vast majority point to positive impacts on teaching and learning. The efficacy evidence is both broad and deep.
“I feel very strongly that parents are important stakeholders, so we want them to have opportunities to connect with their Children's learning. VoiceThread is one of the ways we facilitate this connection"
“VoiceThread was the logical option for enhancing the quality of student feedback while integrating user-friendly EdTech. …Without doubt, Thomas will now achieve a better grade in this project and, more importantly, have a deeper understanding of how improved academic performance is related to goals.”

What's the cost and how can I get started?
- Any school can join the Ed.VoiceThread network at no cost and the first two pioneering educators in the school are absolutely free.
- All student accounts are free to create and use.
- Any additional educators who want to join up and have their accounts upgraded to Pro Educator accounts, will need to pay $120 per year. Bulk discounting codes are available.
- Creating student accounts is free, but can only be done by an authorized person from a school or district and so we need to verify the identity of the educators and administrators of a school.
"I love this because I’m not brave enough to speak in class, but this program allows me to speak without the fear of being embarrassed.”
